“Sono una sognatrice”

 

Circa un paio di anni fa, ho avuto una conversazione con un amico rispetto alcuni aspetti della vita e durante la chiacchierata mi ha detto: "sono un sognatore".

Ho riflettuto a lungo sulla parola "sognatore" da quella volta....

Cosa significa essere un sognatore? Come si può essere un sognatore? I sogni esistono solo quando dormiamo?... e molte alte domande che mi sono frullate in mente riguardo a ciò.

Alcune persone ritengono che i sogni siano illusioni di cui prendi coscienza mentre stai dormendo e che sono impossibili da realizzare nella vita reale perchè non hanno senso! Altre persone credono che alcuni sogni sono in qualche modo connessi con la tua vita quotidiana perchè ti raccontano di un evento o di persone reali che hai conosciuto, così molti di noi provano ad interpretarli per vedere se prendono forma oppure no.

I sogni esistono anche con una modalità differente; alcuni di noi sognano il proprio futuro, la laurea, il diploma, avere un impiego appropriato, altri sognano di viaggiare, altri di innamorarsi, altri ancora di trovare un partner e di avere una famiglia, alcuni sognano di incontrare i propri cari, altri sognano di diventare medico, giornalista, pilota, ingegnere, insegnante, regista, attore e così via....

Per quanto riguarda me credo che i sogni esistano nei piccoli dettagli della nostra vita quotidiana! Ogni pensiero con cui ti svegli la mattina ponendotelo come obiettivo è un sogno, un risultato che cambierà la tua vita o quella di altri attorno a te anche se è stato un cambiamento impercettibile... siamo tutti sognatori, e dipendiamo in maniera differente da come viviamo, da come pensiamo, da cosa desderiamo per il nostro presente e da cosa facciamo per il nostro futuro.

Avere uno scopo nella vita significa essere un sognatore

“I’m A Dreamer”

 

Around two years ago, a friend of mine and I had a conversation about different things in life, and during the talk, he said: “I’m a dreamer.” I have been thinking about this word “dreamer” since then... What is it like to be a dreamer? How can I be a dreamer? Are dreams created only while we are sleeping?... and many other questions that have run into my mind about it.

Some people think that dreams are illusions that come to your conscious while you are sleeping and they are mostly impossible to achieve in real life because they don’t make sense! Other people think that some dreams are attached somehow to real life because they talk about an event they experienced or persons they know, so a lot of us try to translate these dreams to expect what is going to happen or already happened.

Dreams exist in a different way as well; Some of us has future dreams such as graduating from school or university, or having a suitable job, others dream of traveling, some dream of falling in love, others dream of finding their life partner and create a great family, some dream of meeting their beloved ones, other people dream of being a doctor, a journalist, a pilot, an engineer, a teacher, a film maker, an actor, and so on…

As for me, I believe that dreams exist in the smallest details of our daily lives! Every thought you wake up thinking of achieving that day is a dream, a goal that will change your life and the lives of others around you, even if it was a slight change… we are all dreamers, although we differ depending on how we live, what we think, what do we want from our present, and what do we work for our future.

To have a goal in your life is to be a DREAMER.

dopo la bella carovana dei diritti 2014 che ha visto il progetto "Tunes for Peace" crescere arrivando a 60 tra ragazze e ragazzi che hanno frequentato le sessioni estive dei corsi musicali ed il centinaio previsti per quelle invernali (qui le foto:http://www.flickr.com/photos/imemc/sets/72157640466603014/ ) siamo già al lavoro sulle iniziative future di cui vi possiamo dare qualche anticipazione.

• Sono in fase di attivazione presso il centro educativo popolare Angelo Frammartino di Beit Sahour ed il centro culturale Al Rowwad del campo profughi di Aida, workshop ed attività laboratoriali di clowneria e videomaking grazie alla collaborazione di un professionista che abbiamo conosciuto durante una bella serata sulla Palestina a Carpi e che da gennaio porterà le proprie competenze e la propria passione al servizio di questo nuovo progetto di resistenza culturale ed artistica all'occupazione.
• Segnaliamo inoltre che siamo in contatto con l' ARIJ - Applied Research Institute Jerusalem, una realtà straordinaria nata dallo spirito della prima Intifada che tra le altre cose si occupa di agricoltura sostenibile, per l'avvio di una micro progettualità in ambito agricolo legata al campo della formazione nell'ambito dell'apicoltura. La storia senza fine

Tre mesi fa, i media locali ed internazionali ci hanno bombardato con la storia dei tre coloni Israeliani che erano stati rapiti ad Hebron da alcuni Palestinesi.... Racconti sulla vita dei tre giovani hanno rimbalzato su programmi tv e notiziari, interviste con gli amici, madri che piangevano e che chiedevano alla comunità internazionale di portare a casa i loro figli e gli amichi che non potevano vivere le proprie vite senza i tre compagni!

Due settimane dopo, i corpi dei coloni sono stati trovati nelle campagne attorno alla città di Hebron.

Nel corso di quelle due settimane il governo Israeliano ha imposto il coprifuoco su tutta l'area di Hebron, impedendo alla popolazione di entrare ed uscire, aumentando il numero dei checkpoints, arrestando ed interrogando tantissime persone, scontrandosi ogni giorno con i giovani, e facendo esplodere alcune abitazioni di sospettati del rapimento.

Contemporaneamente a Gerusalemme, una famiglia di estremisti Israeliani ha rapito un ragazzo di 15 ani da una strada nel quartiere di Shu'fat, a Gerusalemme.

Una settimana dopo il corpo il ragazzo è riapparso.

Un corpo bruciato che secondo i medici ha subito pesanti torture prima di morire!

Un paio di giorni dopo, la famiglia di rapitori è stata individuata.

I membri della famiglia hanno ammesso di essere usciti in strada alla ricerca di un "arabo" da rapire ed uccidere come vendetta per i tre coloni che erano stati rapiti ed uccisi!

Hanno anche ammesso di averlo torturato per giorni, costringendolo a bere benzina dopodichè lo hanno bruciato vivo.

Non per ultimo il governo Israeliano ha iniziato una guerra nella Striscia di Gaza solo perchè ipotizzavano il coinvolgimento di Hamas nel rapimento e nell'uccisione dei tre ragazzi!

Una guerra durata più di 40 giorni, oltre 2100 Palestinesi uccisi, più di 10.800 feriti (da notare che l'80% erano civili)

In più, in Cisgiordania e nelle aree occupate nel 1948 molti Palestinesi sono stati uccisi dall'esercito Israeliano durante le manifestazioni in solidarietà con Gaza e molti altri sono stati arrestati.

Alla fine di tutto ciò: due Palestinesi sospettati di aver sequestrato ed ucciso i tre coloni Israeliani sono stati uccisi con un omicidio mirato dalle forze di sicurezza Israeliane il 23 Settembre nel centro di Hebron, mentre gli estremisti Israeliani della famiglia che ha torturato e bruciato vivo un ragazzo Palestinese sono stati mandati a processo e rimessi in libertà

Mi fermo qui, e lascio a voi immaginare, pensare e giudicare cosa è la realtà.... A cosa assomiglia la vicenda quotidiana di Isaeliani e Palestinesi, e come sia una storia senza fine..?!

The Story With No End…

Three months ago, international and local media overflowed with a story of a three Israeli settlers who were kidnapped by some Palestinians in Hebron… Stories about the life of the three youth were everywhere on the news and programs, interviews with their friends and families, mothers crying and asking the internationals to bring them their sons back, and friends can’t continue their lives without the presence of their fellows!

Two weeks after, the bodies of the settlers were found in a landscape somewhere near Hebron city. During these two weeks and after, the Israeli government imposed a curfew on Hebron area, prevented people from getting out or going in, increased checkpoints, arrested and questioned more and more people, clashed with youth almost every day, and bombed some houses which were suspected to be houses of the “kidnappers”.

Meanwhile, in Jerusalem, an extremist Israeli family kidnapped a 15-year-old boy from a street in Shu’fat neighborhood in Jerusalem. A week after, the boy showed up… A burned body that doctors said has been badly tortured before death! Couple days after that, the kidnapper family was found. The family members admitted that they went out in the streets looking for an “Arab” to kidnap and kill in revenge for the three settlers who were kidnapped and killed! They also admitted that they tortured the boy for days, forced him to drink benzene, and burned him ALIVE!!

Never the less, the Israeli government started a war on Gaza strip just because they thought Hamas party was behind kidnapping and killing the three Israeli youths! A war that lasted more than 40 days, more than 2100 Palestinians were killed and more than 10800 were injured during it (Notice here that 80% of them were civilians)!! Moreover, in the west bank and the occupied areas in 1948, many Palestinians were shot dead by the Israeli soldiers during demonstrations in solidarity with Gaza strip, and many others were arrested.

The end of all this was: Two Palestinians that were suspected in kidnapping and killing the three Israeli settlers were executed by the Israeli forces on September 23rd in the center of Hebron city, while the extremist Israeli family who tortured and burned the Palestinian boy to death were sent to an Israeli court and then sentenced to be free…

I stop here and I leave you to imagine, think and judge within yourselves what reality is… What does the story that takes place, almost every day, between Palestinians and Israelis look like… How will a story with no end, end…?!

Il Mondo Arabo agli occhi del Mondo Occidentale

Non c'è nessun posto come il paese più bello, o la nazione più democratica, o la terra con più opportunità, o la terra della fortuna.... ogni nazione ha la sua bellezza ed i suoi aspetti negativi 

Alcune nazioni hanno il potere. Controllano l'economia, i media, l'educazione, le scelte politiche ed altri aspetti della quotidianità. Questi paesi vogliono, generalmente, che voi  (e la propria popolazione) pensiate che sono i migliori governi al mondo, vogliono che la loro gente creda che le viene offerto il migliore tenore di vita, e che possono proteggere la propria gente da ogni pericolo come il terrorismo!

La più celebre entità terroristica in questi giorni è l'ISIS. Cosa sappiamo dell'ISIS?

ISIS: è un gruppo terrorista islamico che si sta espandendo nel mondo arabo, uccidendo i cristiani in Iraq, decapitando persone in Siria, come hanno fatto vedere in questi giorni in Giordania, e che gli Stati Uniti "il paese della democrazia" sta attaccando l'Iraq e inviando aiuti militari in Siria per proteggere da questi terroristi persone innocenti appartenenti a varie minoranze. Ovviamente questo è ciò che le nazioni che hanno i potere vogliono farvi credere. 

Ciò che penso io è che l'ISIS non può essere considerato come un gruppo appartenente all'Islam, come? Ho vissuto e vivo con i musulmani da 23 anni e non hanno mai pensato di uccidermi, o rapirmi perchè sono cristiana. I principi dell'Islam non insegnano a decapitare le persone o a mangiarne il cuore! Ciò è estraneo ai principi umani.

La nazioni che detengono il potere usano il termine "terrorismo", attraverso gli tempo, per conservare il potere ed il controllo spaventando la propria gente e generando il bisogno di farsi proteggere! Questi paesi hanno utilizzato il termine "AlQaaida! prima ed hanno conservato l'immagine di un Osama Bin Laden desideroso di uccidere e fare attentati più o meno ovunque. Dicono che fosse la mente degli attentati alle Torri gemelle a New York City l'11 Settembre cosa che da diverse anlisi risulta come una grande menzogna.

Noi, persone di questo mondo non possiamo rimanere ignoranti, abbiamo bisogno di non prendere per oro colato le frasi dei politici  di qualsiasi altra persona. Dobbiamo leggere, vedere, analizzare, abbiamo una mente e dobbiamo usarla continuamente. Voi, che vivete nel Mondo Occidentale non dovete credere alla narrazione che vi è stata fatta del Mondo Arabo, ce è farneticante, datata e sbagliata! Se guardate la storia antica e recente, potete vedere come gli Arabi hanno influenzato la fisica, la matematica, la bologia, la farmacia, le arti, la poesia, la letteratura, la filosofia ed altre importanti invenzioni. Gli arabi hanno raggiunto livelli di scolarità elevatissimi, e se ancora avessero un autogoverno, raggiungerebbero nuovamente livelli più avanzati di altri paesi.

The Arab World in the eyes of the Western World

There is no such place as the most beautiful country, or the most democratic country, or the land of opportunities, or the land of luck… every country had its own beauty and its own ugliness.

Some countries have the power. They control economy, media, education, politics and other facilities of life. These countries want you –generally- and their people –especially- to think that they are the best governments in the world, they want their own people to believe that they provide them the most suitable way of living, and can protect them from any badness such as terrorism!

The most common terrorism subject these days is “ISIS”. What do you know about ISIS?

ISIS: is an Islamic terrorism group that is spreading all over the Arab world, killing Christians in Iraq, taking off people’s heads in Syria, showed nowadays in Jordan, and that the USA “the country on democracy” is invading Iraq and sending its military to Syria, to help innocent people and the minorities from these terrorists. Of course, that is what the country of power wants you to believe.

What I believe is that the ISIS group is never considered to be Muslims, how? I have been living with Muslims for 23 years now. They never thought about killing me or rap because I am a Christian. The Muslims principles didn’t tell them to take people’s heads off or eat people’s hearts! This is out of any human principles.


The countries of power used this term “terrorism”, throughout the years, to stay in power and control by keeping their people scared and in need for others to protect them! These countries used the term “AlQaaida” before and they stored this image about Osama Bin Laden that he is a monster that is welling to kill and bomb anywhere he present! They said he was behind bombing the two towers in New York City in 11.9, which according to some studies later turned to be a “big fat lie”!!


We, people of this world, must not be ignorant, we must not take any politician’s or anyone’s word for granted. We can read, see and analyze, we have a mind we can use all the time. You, people of the western world shall not believe what you are been told about the Arab world, that it is full of craziness, backward and default! If you look back in the ancient and recent history, you can see how Arabs involved in physics, mathematics, biology, chemistry, art, poetry, literature, philosophy and other important inventions. Arabs recorded high educational levels, and if they still had self-rule, they would have still recorded higher and higher educational and intellectual levels than other countries.

Una giovane Palestinese

Una volta mi è stato chiesto da un giornalista tedesco: "Mentre ti trovi in Germania, qual'è la cosa che maggiormente ti diverte fare?". Risposi: "Andare in bicicletta! Mi da un senso di libertà che nel mio paese non provo".

Come ad ogni altro giovane in questo mondo, ai giovani Palestinesi piace divertirsi, ma la vita qui non è semplice come in altri posti del pianeta. Abbiamo ristoranti, piscine, negozi, bar ma non abbiamo la varietà di offerta che ciascun giovane ha nel proprio paese, senza dire poi che in questi giorni molti locali sono chiusi per via della guerra a Gaza, ed anche quando sono aperti, e ci andiamo, ci sentiamo in colpa ad uscire mentre la gente a Gaza muore continuamente.

Per quanto mi riguarda sono il tipo di persona a cui piace uscire con gli amici, andare alle feste, ballare, divertirsi, ma per fare tutto ciò qui ci sono due cose che possono ostacolarti: i costumi sociali e la situazione politica.

Prima di tutto vi sono numerosi ostacoli legati ai costumi sociali che ti impediscono di fare alcune cose, come fare tardi la notte ad una festa, specialmente come ragazza, ricevo moltissime critiche ma, avendo l'animo ribelle, non mi curo di ciò e faccio ciò che ritengo giusto e mi domando "Che succede alle altre ragazze?". Anche a loro piace uscire e vivere normalmente, ma non viene loro permesso, e vivono in città dove la gente ha una mentalità meno aperta rispetto alla gente di Betlemme, dove vivo io. 

In secondo luogo, se superi gli ostacoli legati ai costumi sociali, le questioni politiche ti saltano addosso! Alcuni dei miei amici, per esempio,vivono a Gerusalemme. Quando organizzano una festa di compleanno, o quando vogliono andare al mare e mi chiedono di unirmi a loro, non posso perchè non ho il permesso di entrare a Gerusalemme, oppure, quando ho il permesso per superare un checkpoint, si può venire fermati ugualmente e rimandati indietro. Lo scorso anno, l'Uva Grisa, un gruppo musicale proveniente dall'Italia, ha trascorso parecchio tempo a Gerusalemme, avrei voluto unirmi a loro ma purtroppo non ho potuto farlo perchè non avevo il permesso per entrare.

Queste motivazioni rappresentano solo minimamente l'immagine più generale su come sia la vita quotidiana in Palestina.

Le cose qui non si possono descrivere solo con la scrittura.... Vorrei che ci fosse una nuova era, con grandi cambiamenti come avvenne in Europa nel 1500.

P.S: La foto è scattata sul monte Carmelo ad Akko, da dove possiamo vedere Haifa e Jaffa. Posso andarci solo quando "Israele" acconsente a darmi un permesso.

A Palestinian youth

I was once asked by a German journalist: “while being in Germany, what is the most thing you enjoy doing?” I answered: “Riding a bicycle! This gives me the feeling of freedom that I don’t feel in my country.”

As any youth in this world, Palestinian youth like to enjoy themselves and have fun, but life here is not as easy as other places in the world… here, we have restaurants, pools, shopping places, bars, and so on, but still, these are not the varieties any youth can have in their own countries, not to mention that in these days places are almost closed because of the war on Gaza, and if they are opened and we went there, we feel guilty just by being out while people in Gaza are dying all the time!

For me, I am the kind of a person that likes to go out with friends, go to parties, dance, have fun and so on, but to do that here, there are two things that may not allow you to do so; society, and political situation.

First of all, a lot of social obstacles prevent you from doing some things, such as going out for a party late at night, especially for me as a girl, I get a lot of criticism about that, but because I’m a rebel girl, I don’t care and I just do what I see is right, but then I wonder: What about other girls? They also like to go out and want to live normally, but they are not allowed and they also live in towns where people are stricter than people in Bethlehem where I live.

Second of all, if you get away with social obstacles, political trammels pump in your face! Some of my friends, for example, live in Jerusalem. When they have birthday parties or when they want to hang out or go to the sea and ask me to join them, I can’t do that because I don’t have a permit to enter Jerusalem, or if I do have a permit to cross the checkpoint I may be stopped there and forced to turn back. Last year the L’uva Grisa group from Italy, spent most of their time in Jerusalem and I wanted to join them badly but I couldn't! because I couldn't have a permission to enter.

These reasons are just a small description of the bigger image of what is going on in the daily life of youth in Palestine. Things here can’t be just described by writing on a paper… I wish to have a new era with better changes such as the one that Europe had in 1500.

P.S: The picture is from AlKarmel mountain in Akka, from where we can see Haifa and Yaffa. I can go there only when "Israel" accepts to give me an entrance permission

Palestinesi: un popolo, un'anima

Nonostante tutti i tentativi di dividere i Palestinesi con vari dispositivi: posizionando  ceck points ad ogni ingresso delle città, costruendo il Muro dell'apartheid, o dividendo la Palestina "storica" tra Gaza, Cisgiordania ed i territori occupati nel 1948, i Palestinesi hanno ancora un'unica anima e sono un unico popolo.

Il 24 Luglio 2014 è stato un giorno da ricordare; sono state indette manifestazioni a sostegno di Gaza in ogni luogo della Palestina: a Betlemme e nei villaggi circostanti, a Nablus, Tulkarem, ad Hebron e nei villaggi dell'area, a Ramallah, a Gerusalemme e nei territori Palestinesi occupati nel 1948: Haifa, Jaffa, Nazareth ed altri luoghi ancora. A Ramallah, è stata organizzata una manifestazione che è stata ritenuta essere la più partecipata degli ultimi 10 anni con oltre 25mila persone, che si sono riunite ed hanno marciato dal campo profughi di AlAm'aari fino al campo profughi di Qalandia. 

Al ceck point di Qalandia, dove si trovavano i soldati Israeliani, i militari hanno aperto il fuoco sparando sia proiettili ricoperti di plastica, che munizioni da guerra e lanciando gas lacrimogeni.

Gaza è sotto attacco e le alte aree della Palestina si sono mobilitate contro l'occupante.

Non potete immaginare la felicità provata da noi giovani, perchè dopo la prima intifada, nel 1987, e la seconda intifada nel 2001, si era venuta a creare una stagnazione.

Era come se il governo Israeliano, volesse che ci scordassimo della questione Palestinese, e vivessimo con gli altri problemi della quotidianità, come il bisogno di denaro. Volevano che la nuova generazione si dimenticasse della Palestina e che vivessero consapevoli del fatto che Israele esiste e così deve essere.

Per me si tratta di una terza intifada, e ho sperato che ne arrivasse una per molto tempo. Molti di noi desiderano una terza intifada, una sollevazione che elimini l'occupazione, e che abbia nuovi leaders che parlino per i Palestinesi e che guidino la Palestina ad essere il miglior posto al mondo

Palestinians: One Hand, One Soul

Despite all the attempts to divide the Palestinian people, in different ways; by putting checkpoints at every city entrance, by building the apartheid wall, or by dividing historical Palestine to Gaza, Westbank and the territories occupied in 1948, the Palestinian people can still be one hand and one soul.

The 24th of July 2014 was a day to remember, demonstrations went out supporting Gaza in every spot of Palestine… in Bethlehem and the surround villages, in Nablus, in Tulkarem, in Hebron and the surround villages, in Ramallah, in Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948: Haifa, Yaffa, Nazareth and other places. In Ramallah, a demonstration considered to be the hugest since the last 10 years was organized, around 25.000 people gathered that night and marched from AlAm’aari refugee camp to Qalandia refugee camp where Israeli soldiers stationed on Qalandia checkpoint started shooting them with live ammunitions, gas canisters and rubber coated steel bullets.

Gaza is under attack and the other areas in Palestine are uprising against the occupier. You can’t imagine the joy we as youth felt like, because after the first Palestinian intifada –uprising- in 1987 and the second intifada in 2001, things got idle! It was like that the Israeli government wanted us to forget about the Palestinian case, and live with other daily problems, such as collecting money for living! They wanted the new generation to forget about Palestine and to live with the fact that Israel exists and that it should be!

For me, it is a third intifada indeed, and I hoped for one since a long time. Most of us wished for a third intifada, an uprising which will result in getting rid of the occupation, and having new leaders who will speak for the Palestinian people and lead Palestine to be the best place in the world.

Disoccupazione in Palestina

Disoccupazione in Palestina

L'Istituto Centrale di Statistica Palestinese comunica che in Palestina il 96% dei Palestinesi è scolarizzato.

Andiamo a scuola per più di 12 anni, ci iscriviamo alle Università, sia nel nostro paese che all'estero, terminiamo il corso di laurea e molti di noi si iscrivono poi ad un master.

Ma la domanda è: perchè in Palestina il tasso di disoccupazione, statistiche alla mano, si attesta attorno al 40%?

Definiamo la disoccupazione come: ciascuna persona abile al lavoro, che desidera lavorare e che sta cercando un lavoro senza riuscire a trovarlo.

Sfortunatamente la mancanza di occupazione è un problema globale e diffuso.

La rivoluzione in Egitto, per fare un esempio, è iniziata per via della mancanza di lavoro e perchè i giovani si diplomavano e laureavano in scuole ed università senza trovare poi un lavoro appropriato.

La Palestina sta vivendo anno dopo anno un'involuzione rispetto a questo problema. 

Prima del 1994 la popolazione poteva lavorare ovunque nella Palestina "Storica" (N.d.r. per Palestina Storica si intende la Palestina del mandato Britannico del 1921 comprendente l'attuale Stato di Israele, la Cisgiordania, e la Striscia di Gaza)  ma dopo gli accordi di Oslo il paese è stato suddiviso in "zone controllate da Israele", "zone controllate dai Palestinesi" e "zone a controllo Israelo-Palestinese".

(Per essere onesti questi sono solo nomi sulla carta perchè anche le zone controllate dai Palestinesi sono accessibili al governo Israeliano)

Trovare lavoro nella Striscia di Gaza, o in Cisgiordania, è un'opportunità più unica che rara, perchè vi sono moltissime persone e poche opportunità, cosa che spinge prevalentemente all'emigrazione, o alla ricerca di lavoro negli insediamenti illegali Israeliani, che, il più delle volte, significa sfruttamento e condizioni estreme per le vite dei lavoratori.

L'occupazione Israeliana aggrava la situazione chiudendo i check points tra città e villaggi, distruggendo i terreni agricoli con i bulldozer, danneggiando o distruggendo le infrastrutture e le imprese, cosa che condiziona pesantemente l'economia del paese.

Inoltre la disoccupazione nella Striscia di Gaza è più alta che in Cisgiordania, perchè Gaza è sotto assedio Israeliano da più di 8 anni, il confine occidentale con l'Egitto è chiuso ed a quelli orientali gli Israeliani proibiscono alla gente di Gaza di uscire.

Nonostante tutto ciò i Palestinesi amano l'istruzione.

Anche quando vivono in condizioni economiche disagiate, mandano i loro figli e le loro figlie nelle scuole e nelle università.

I risultati della disoccupazione generano evidenti problemi sociali, come furti ed altri crimini, problemi economici come la povertà o problemi familiari come i divorzi o una difficile infanzia per i figli.

Possiamo immaginare alcune soluzioni contro la disoccupazione.

Prima di tutto dobbiamo essere certi della stabilità del quadro politico.

In secondo luogo abbiamo la necessità di essere attrattivi per investimenti di paesi che possono creare impiego in Palestina.

In terzo luogo il settore privato arabo dovrebbe spendersi maggiormente per contribuire alla crescita della progettualità Palestinese e creare opportunità di lavoro per i Palestinesi.

Unemployment in Palestine

The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics in Palestine shows that 96% of the Palestinian people are educated. We go to school for more than 12 years then we attend universities whether in our country or abroad, we finish bachelor and then most of us continue masters. But, the question is, why is the employment ratio in Palestine around 40% according to statistics?

We define unemployment as: Every person who is able to work, willing to work, and still searching for job, but to no avail. Unfortunately, having no jobs is a worldwide issue. The revolution in Egypt, for example, was because of lack of jobs, and because youth graduate from universities and colleges, but still can’t find a proper work.

Palestine is involving in this problem more and more every year. Before 1994, people could work anywhere in historical Palestine, but after Oslo agreement, the country was divided into “Israeli controlled areas”, “Palestinian controlled areas”, and “Palestinian-Israeli controlled areas”. (To be frank, these are only names because even the Palestinian controlled areas are open for the Israeli governemt!)To find work in Gaza strip and the west bank is almost a unique chance, because there are a lot of people but lake of opportunities, which lead mostly to immigration, or seeking for jobs inside the illegal Israeli settlements, which are most of the time a huge threat on the workers lives!

The Israeli occupation makes it worse by closing checkpoints between villages and towns,bulldozing agricultural lands, and destroying infrastructure and enterprises, which affects the economy of the country.

Moreover, unemployment in Gaza strip is higher than in the west bank, because Gaza is under the Israeli siege for more than 8 years now, the borders from the west with Egypt are closed, and from the east side Israel forbid Gazan people from entering as well!

Despite this, Palestinian people are passion for education. Even though they have bad economic situations and hardly living, they send their sons and daughters to schools and universities.

Unemployment results in social problems, such as crimes and thefts, economic problems, such as poverty, and familial problems, such as divorce and bad upbringing of children.

We can figure out some solutions for unemployment. Firstly, we need to ensure the stability of the political situation. Secondly, we need to attract support from donor countries to invest in Palestine and create more jobs for people. Thirdly, the Arab private sector has to contribute more in Palestinian projectsto increase chances for Palestinians to work.

Quando uno straniero critica un Palestinese

Un paio di giorni fa un amico dall'Europa mi ha chiesto: "ma che vantaggio avete nel lanciare razzi? Quando voi Palestinesi lanciate dei razzi diminuite la possibilità, per noi stranieri, di difendervi difronte alle altre nazioni"
Come? Scusa?

Ora lascia che mi spieghi: Israele è un paese occupante, che da 66 anni ruba terra dalla Palestina Storica, e  che, agli occhi del mondo, ha il diritto di difendersi dalla popolazione che occupa, che, di fatto, non ha nè esercito nè armi; ma quando i Palestinesi lanciano un singolo razzo, voi iniziate a criticarci perchè riduciamo per voi la possibilità di difenderci perchè spaventiamo gli Israeliani da se stessi!!!!

Come? Scusate siamo tremendi!!

Le persone Europee o Americane, o di qualsiasi altra nazione, non capiranno mai le reali sofferenze dei Palestinesi senza visitare la Palestina (non Israele) e provare le difficoltà che i Palestinesi vivono ogni singolo giorno. 

Le nostre sofferenze non riguardano la guerra dei missili, ma la vita quotidiana.

Sfido ciascuno di voi a trovare una famiglia Palestnese che non abbia un figlio martire, o che non abbia un figlio in carcere, nelle prigioni dell'occupazione Israeliana, sia sulla base di una condanna che senza accuse specifiche! Oppure qualcuno il cui figlio è stato esiliato lontano da casa dal governo di chi ci occupa.

Potrebbe ance capitare di trovare tutti questi casi anche in un'unica famiglia.

Ogni volta che incontro dei Palestinesi, sia qui oppure quando ho la possibilità di viaggiare all'estero, gli dico di non farsi influenzare prima di venire in Palestina, di vivere la vita quotidiana, e di conoscere la verità.

Ad essere sinceri, noi Palestinesi non abbiamo bisogno di sostenitori ciechi ed acritici. 

Abbiamo bisogno di persone che comprendano la situazione, che cerchino la verità e la raccontino con onestà, perchè come Palestinese sono sicura che in questo caso la ragione sia dalla nostra parte.

Nell'Agosto del 2012 ho incontrato i gruppo Italiano l'Uva Grisa, li abbiamo portati in giro, abbiamo mostrato loro il Muro dell'Apartheid, i luoghi storici e la vita in alcune antiche città Palestinesi.

Molti di loro erano già informati rispetto a cosa accadeva in Palestina, ma sono sicura che quell'esperienza abbia comunicato loro molto più di quanto potessero sapere, e che abbia consentito loro di vedere la verità più chiaramente.

Spero di incontrare l'altro gruppo, che scenderà dal 19 al 30 Agosto prossimo e spero che ciò che le persone scese vedranno aiuti loro a comprendere cosa accade realmente in Palestina

When a Foreigner criticize a Palestinian!

Couple days ago, a friend from Europe asked me: what benefit do you get from shooting rockets? When you Palestinians shoot rockets you reduce the chance for us as foreigners to defend you in front of our countries.
What?! Excuse me?!
So let me put it this way, Israel is an occupying state, which is steeling land from historical Palestine since 66 years, and in the eye of the foreign world they have the right to defend themselves from the people they are occupying, who have in fact no army and no weapons, but when Palestinians shoot a single rocket, you people start criticizing us for reducing the chances for you to defend us because we made the Israeli people worried about themselves!!!!!!
What?! Oh we are terrible sorry!!
People from Europe and the US or any other country, will never understand the real suffering of the Palestinians unless they visit Palestine (not Israel) and live the suffering they live every single day. Our suffering isn’t about the war of the rockets; it’s about the daily life. I challenge anyone of you to find a Palestinian family whose son isn’t a martyr, or whose son isn’t a prisoner in the occupying Israeli jails, either with a sentence or without one! or whose son isn’t expatriate by the occupying government far away from home, or maybe all of these together in one family.
Every time I meet people from outer Palestine, either here or when I have the chance to travel abroad, I tell them never be biased unless you come to Palestine, live the daily life experience and know the truth. To be honest, we Palestinians don’t need blind cheerers! We just need people to understand the situation, seek for the truth and tell it honestly, because as a Palestinian I am sure and I believe that in this case, we are the owners of the right.
In august 2012 I met the Italian group “L’uva Grisa”, we took them around, showed them the apartheid wall, historical places and the life in some of the old cities of Palestine. Most of them had a background about what is going on in Palestine, but I am sure that this experience taught them more than they already knew, and made them see the truth more clearly. I hope to meet the other group, who is coming from 19th to 30th of next august, and I hope that what they will see will benefit them to realize what is really going on in Palestine.

Ladies and gentlemen this is Palestine di Salam Qumsiyeh

Svegliarsi ogni mattina e leggere di un ragazzo o un bambino colpito a morte dai soldati Israeliani fa parte della vita quotidiana in Palestina
Si signore e signori, quello che sto dicendo potrà sembrare ironico, ma rappresenta il modo in cui viviamo, ogni giorno sparano a qualcuno, e più diventi grande, più persone conosci e più vicine ti sono le persone morte.
Il 27 Febbraio 2014 a Birzeit, la città dove ho studiato per la mia laurea per quattro anni, Mutaaz Washaha, di 24 anni, ragazzo che li avevo conosciuto, è stato raggiunto da un colpo d'arma da fuoco sparato dall'Esercito Israeliano mentre si trovava all'interno della propria abitazione, e dopo averlo ucciso i buldozers dell'esercito hanno demolito una parte della sua abitazione.
L'11 Marzo, un ragazzo di 20 anni, Saji Darwish, mio compagno all'università, iscrittosi l'anno prima che mi laureassi, è stato ferito a morte all'interno della fattoria della sua famiglia a Ramallah dove amava andare a cavallo vicino ad un insediamento illegale Israeliano!
Due mesi dopo il 15 Maggio, il giorno che noi Palestinesi chiamiamo la Nakba, che significa "la catastrofe" perchè è il giorno in cui fummo occupati dai sionisti, due ragazzi di 17 anni Nadeem e Mahmoud sono stati feriti a morte a Ramallah.
Nadeem era una ragazzo dolce che vedevo abitualmente a Betlemme con gli scout quando i gruppi scout di varie parti della Palestina si ritrovano per celebrare il Natale.
Era un ragazzo sorridente, che amava la vita, circondato da amici che lo amavano, senza menzionare le ragazze a cui piacevano i suoi bei lineamenti.
Il numero è incalcolabile...
Ogni giorno mi sveglio impaurita, con il timore di perdere qualcuno che mi sia più vicino di quanto lo fossero questi ragazzi.
E' stressante chiedere ogni volta come stanno i tuoi amici appena ti arriva la notizia di una sparatoria o della demolizione di alcune abitazioni in qualsiasi parte della Palestina.
Noi Palestinesi subiamo la privazione dei più basilari diritti umani, non ci possiamo muovere liberamente perchè ci sono i checkpoints che dividono ogni città Palestinese e perchè i coloni sono attorno alle città, armati ed in attesa di sparare ad un Palestinese o di rapirlo.
Non menziono nemmeno il fatto che non possiamo andare a Gerusalemme o in nessun altra città all'interno di ciò che è chiamato Israele.
Non possiamo parlare liberamente da quando i media internazionali sono assoggettati al punto di vista Israeliano.
Non possiamo bere l'acqua del rubinetto liberamente, oppure farci un bagno, perchè le risorse idriche sono controllate dal governo Israeliano.
Non possiamo viaggiare liberamente perchè occorre un permesso del governo Israeliano che richiede lunghe trafile burocratiche e se siamo fortunati tanto da ottenere il permesso per poter poi richiedere un visto, dopo aver ottenuto il visto, dobbiamo superare tre confini, quello Palestinese, quello Israeliano e quello Giordano perchè "Israele" non ci permette di viaggiare utilizzando l'aeroporto Ben Gurion.
Ogni giorno mi sveglio sperando in una vita migliore, sperando che le cose cambino e che finalmente possiamo vivere in pace.
Si signore e signori questa è la Palestina

To wake up every morning and read in the news about a kid or a youth that was shot by the occupying Israeli soldiers, is a Palestinian daily life style!
Yes ladies and gentlemen, what I’m saying may be ironic, but this is how we really live, everyday someone is shot… and the most you get older and more social the more closer the died person becomes!
In the 27th of February 2014 in Birzeit, the town where I studied my bachelor for four years, a 24- year-old Mutaaz Washaha, whom I knew from this town, was shot inside his house by Israeli forces, and after killing him, Israeli bulldozers demolished part of his house.
In the 11th of March, a 20-year-old Saji Darwish, one of my fellows at the university, who enrolled at Birzeit University one year before I graduated, was shot and killed inside his family’s farm in Ramallah just because he was feeding his hours near an illegal Israeli settlement!
Two months later in the 15th of May, the day we Palestinians call “AlNakba” which means catastrophe because in this day we were occupied by the Zionists, two 17-year-old boys Nadeem and Mahmoud were shot and killed in Ramallah… Nadeem was a sweet charming boy whom I used to see in Bethlehem with the scout when all scouts from different parts of Palestine gather to celebrate Christmas, he was a smiling boy who loved life and he had a lot of friends who really loved him, not to mention the girls that liked his beautiful face.
And the number is uncountable…
Every day I wake up in fear, a fear of losing someone closer to me than these guys. It is stressful to rush to ask about your friends’ safety every time you hear about shooting or demolishing houses in a certain Palestinian city.
We Palestinians lake basic human rights, we can’t move freely because of the checkpoints between every single Palestinian city and because settlers are all around, holding guns and other weapons waiting for a Palestinian to come near so they kidnap or shoot, not to mention that we are not allowed to go to Jerusalem or any other city inside what is called Israel! We can’t talk freely since international media is controlled by the Israeli point of view! We can’t drink water or take a bath freely as water sources are controlled by the Israeli government! We can’t travel freely because we have to take the permission from the Israeli government, and go through lot of procedures for that, and if you are lucky and got the permission you need to get a visa, and after getting the visa you need to cross three different borders, which are the Palestinian, the Israeli, and the Jordanian, as “Israel” don’t allow us to travel through Bingeriun airport.
Every day I wake up hoping for a better life, hoping that things would change and that we can finally live in peace.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, this is Palestine!
